Ferry to Dublin & Back

In October, 2003, we took a quick turnaround trip to Dublin starting with a dawn train ride from London to Holyhead on the Isle of Angelsey, Wales, followed by a two hour ferry ride to the Irish port of Dun Loughaire, just south of Dublin. We were only in Dublin for about a day and a half, but we liked it and will surely return someday. Allan, who cannot swim, was very nervous before boarding the ferry, and was made even more so by the safety announcements on board. In fact, he wanted to ask for a life jacket (Holly and I dissuaded him)! Actually, the ferry ride was quite fun - it's really sort of a floating pub/restaurant. The shots of Dublin are of a street busker on Grafton Street, O'Connell Street and the River Liffey. The return ferry ride to Wales was a bit rough - 5 ft. swells, but beautiful with the sun reflecting off the water and coming into port in Holyhead with the lighthouse off in the distance. Allan had gotten over his nervousness on the return trip and I think he actually enjoyed himself.
