In September, '04, our British friend, Patrick, drove Allan, Holly and I from Hampton Court Palace to Northamptonshire to visit Princess Diana's childhood home,
Althorp House. It was a beautiful, sunny day, although a bit windy. The grounds of Althorp are gorgeous and serene. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must have been like to grow up in sourroundings like these. It was very moving to see the island on which Diana is buried. She is someone I have always admired. The stable block of the estate has been turned into a Museum and displays some of Diana's correspondence and photographs and chronicles her many humanitarian efforts. To my great delight, many of her beautiful outfits are also on display, including her wedding gown.
